PSALM 143:10 Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; May your good spirit lead me on level ground.
When a person asks me if a horse is broke, to me the question is really “does this horse know and understand the meaning of relationship and submission?’ In other words, has the horse reached a point when it has totally submitted to its master through a full understanding that life with that lead is meaningless? Does the horse seek the leadership from and desire to be in close relationship with its master? If yes, then I would say the horse is broke or has reached that point of brokenness at which time its life has truly turned around.
That place of brokenness is not much like our relationship with the
Lord. For me, I had to reach a place of brokenness and a feeling of
complete worthlessness before I could truly understand the meaning of
submitting my life to Jesus. While I do stumble in my walk, I also know
and understand that all I have and all that I am is because of the
Lord. And, without His daily guidance I am lost.
Job 10:1 I loathe my own life; I will give full vent to my complaint; I will speak in bitterness of my soul.
The question is “are you broke”? Have you found that place of
brokenness? And, if so, have you submitted completely to the Lord? He
wants to lead you, care for you. In a way that we will never fully
understand.
Job 42: 1-6 Job’s Confession – Then Job answered the Lord and
said, “I know that You can do all things, And that no purpose of Yours
can be thwarted. ‘Who is this that hides counsel without knowledge?’
Therefore I have declared that which I do not understand, Things too
wonderful for me, which I do not know.” Hear, now, and I will speak; I
will ask You, and You instruct me.’ I have heard of You by the hearing
of the ear; But now my y eye sees You; Therefore I retract, and I repent
in dust and ashes.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do
not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He will make your paths straight.
Job got to a place where he retracted and repented of his sins, of his
thoughts, and of his actions. He came to that place where he did not
lean on his own understanding and acknowledged God in all that he did.
He was broken and reached that place of brokenness.
So again, I ask the question, “are you broke”? Have you found that
place of brokenness? And, if so, have you submitted completely to the
Lord? He wants to lead you and care for you in a way that we will never
fully understand.
